Seborrheic dermatitis is a condition that usually affects the skin on the scull and is characterized with redness, itchiness and very persistent dandruff. The condition is not serious but it can be very demanding, because you need to continuously repeat the treatments in order for the symptoms to disappear.

The cause of seborheic dermatitis is still unknown but it is supposed that it can appear as a result of yeast that is found in the skin, inflammation and the season, probably because the condition becomes worse during spring and autumn.

The treatment of this condition usually requires cortico-steroids, and having in mind the large list of their side effects we recommend you to try natural remedies to help with this condition.

Coconut oil

Massage in gently warm coconut oil on your scull every day before bed time. Coconut oil hydrates the skin and has strong anti microbe effects that can solve the problem with seborrheic dermatitis in just a few days.

Oat meal

This helps with every kind of irritations on the skin as well as rash, scratch and it can perfectly hydrate your skin.  Add a cup of grinded oats in your bath water and soak in for 15-20 minutes. Repeat this treatment as much as you think us possible.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar cannot be used as an effective every day treatment for seborrheic dermatitis. Apple cider vinegar will soothe the inflammation and irritation of the skin.  What you need to do is mix equal amounts of water and apple cider vinegar and apply it on your scull with cotton cloth. Leave it to dry for half an hour and then rinse with water. Repeat the treatment every day. It will also be useful to drink a glass of water with 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day.

Aloe Vera

This plant is very effective against dermatitis because it can soothe inflammation and rashes. It hydrates the skin and protects it from microbes as well as balances the natural pH of the skin. Apply aloe Vera gel on your scull few times a day for several months and your hair will become strong and healthy.

Honey

With it antiseptic and anti bacterial properties, honey can lower the intensity of inflammation on the skin. Mix equal amounts of honey, bee wax and olive oil. Heat the pot until it becomes like an ointment. When it cools down apply on the head and leave it on for few hours. Repeat the treatment every day for longer period.
