Dry mouth is a sign of dehydration. It is the most obvious sign that you need to drink water. You are definitely thirsty when your oral cavity, tongue or lips are dried. Your body needs at least 1,5 liters of water a day. Listen to it and satisfy its needs.

Dry eyes Dehydration causes serious problems to the eyes. if your body lacks water your eyes are also dry and they become red. The body can’t keep the eyes moist because it doesn’t get the needed amounts of water. Dry eyes are especially serious complication for people with contact lenses.

Dry skin
Dry and irritated skin is the most obvious sign of dehydration that can later cause more serious consequences for the whole body. The skin is the biggest organ and it needs a lot of water to function normally. Lack of water disables the sweating which is important process that helps removing toxins from the body.

Tiredness
When you don’t drink water as much as your body needs it needs to steal it from the organs that have it. That is the main reason dehydration is followed with tiredness, lethargy, sleepiness. Your immune system is also not functioning as it should and it is harder for the body to recover from diseases.

Joint pain
If your body is dehydrated there is not enough water in the cartilage which is causing friction in the bones during every step you make and also any kind of physical activity. Cartilage is mostly made of water and that is the main reason we need to drink enough water, especially after a workout when the body sweats and loses more liquid than usual, which is a potential danger for it to dehydrate faster.

Hunger
Sudden attacks of hunger are very often in people that don’t drink as much water as they should. When the body is dehydrated it can send wrong signals and you will eat instead of drinking water. When you don’t drink water your body does not feel the need to urinate, which means it can’t expel the toxins of the body. If you don’t urinate 4-7 times a day then your body lacks water. If your urine is darker than usual it is a sign that the body is dehydrated.

Headache
People that don’t drink enough water often suffer from constant headaches. If you are experiencing sudden and regular headaches, don’t rich out for medication at once, try drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. If dehydration is a cause of your headache it will end soon after you drink 1-2 glasses of water.
