This is not one of those “Ha, I got you” moments that will lead you on a trick with cinnamon. After a few weeks during which we found amazing ways to use everyday foods such as tea, lemon, honey, we decided to re-address this controversial spice and its benefits.
Use of cinnamon begins ages ago in China and India, where it was used as a remedy for relieving symptoms of flu and digestive problems. This amazing spice with wonderful warm aroma contains calcium, iron and manganese it is rich in fiber and healing essential oils. It has a large area of use. As a spice cinnamon can be added to dishes, deserts, teas and drinks. It is used as remedy for colds and cough, for high blood sugar, weight loss and good sleep. Cinnamon is also useful as a beauty agent in masks, scrubs, creams and more. It is very useful spice with very different uses. You can mix it with honey, brown sugar, olive oil on order to achieve amazing results.
There are also some amazing and probably surprising uses of cinnamon that you may not know about. We listed them below.
Forget about implants and collagen procedures, apply some Vaseline on the lips and then tap cinnamon powder over. Rub well into your lips and then leave it on for a few minutes. You will feel that tingling sensation on your lips. Remember not to put cinnamon directly on the skin to avoid irritation. Apply another layer of Vaseline and you will have much fuller lips.
Mask against acne
To prepare this homemade anti acne mask mix three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon. When you mix it all well it will homogenize and it will looks like a chocolate. Apply the mask on the face and let it work for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off and dry your face. Cinnamon has anti bacterial properties and it will prevent spreading the bacteria from the acne. Honey will hydrate the skin and prevent redness.
Hair loss is very common problem and can occur as a result of different reasons. If you do this cinnamon treatment once a week and it can stimulate the hair growth. All you need to do is mix two tablespoons of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of honey with half a cup of warm olive oil. Then add one egg to thicken the mixture. Rub this mixture on wet hair and scalp and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse well and wash with a shampoo. It is recommended to consult a dermatologist before you start to use this treatment if your skin and scalp are sensitive.
Against bad breath
If you have bad breath chew a few sticks of cinnamon or gargle with a mixture of hot water and cinnamon and it will solve the problem with the breath.
Remove dry skin
Get rid of dry and wrinkled skin by removing the dead skin cells with this homemade scrub. Mix sea salt, almond oil, honey and cinnamon and scrub off the dead cells of skin. Skin will look gentle velvety and nourished.
Get rid of ants
Ants don’t like the smell of cinnamon. So if you want to prevent them from going around all over your kitchen and all your food, sprinkle some cinnamon where they are most concentrated and it will solve the problem.
