We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day especially if you want to lose weight. But if you start feeling hunger around 10 o’clock and you already had breakfast, then it is time to choose different type of food for this most important meal.
The best choice you can make is oatmeal. This is recently proven by a new research that was published in a famous food magazine.
The study was conducted on a group of 36 man and women that were divided in three different groups: first group ate oatmeal for breakfast; the second ate cornflakes and the third skipped breakfast and only drank water. The first and the second group both had 350 calories. In the next three hours the participants had to write the level of fullness and they also checked the blood for sugar and insulin level. After that they all got same lunch and they were allowed to eat until they felt full.
As expected, the group that ate oatmeal, were the least hungry, and ate 31% less calories for lunch. Oatmeal showed good results with overweight people, they ate 50 % less calories for lunch.
The group that had cornflakes for breakfast, started feeling hunger 3 hours after the breakfast, just like the group that had just water. This group also ate the same amount of calories as the group that didn’t have breakfast.
The question is why is this happening even the both groups had same calorie value breakfast? Oatmeal stays longer in the stomach and cornflakes has very high glucose level and it increases glucose level in the blood but it also lowers fast.
Why oats? Oats and its products like flakes and oatmeal are extremely healthy and useful food. If you think you should eat oatmeal just for breakfast, you are wrong. You can mix and combine oatmeal with almost every food. You can eat it as a side dish, add it with a boiled vegetables, salad or as a base to healthy deserts like cookies.

Oatmeal is rich with fiber and it has the ability to tie fats and lowers the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. That way oats protects the heart and blood weasels and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Lowers blood pressure
Oatmeal is one of the most powerful ingredients that can regulate blood pressure. Fiber called lignin can lower the blood pressure even 30 %, only by its regular use.
Lowers risk of cancer
Whole grain cereal including oats, lower a risk of colon cancer. Besides that oats can lower a risk of breast, prostate and ovary cancer.
Depending on where you buy it you can have half a kilogram of oat flakes for a dollar and they can last you a week. That way you have your stomach and your wallet satisfied.
