If you are still not familiar with health benefits of turmeric here is a reminder. Turmeric is an orange -yellowish spice that origins from India, part of the family of ginger. It is known as a powerful antioxidant that fights with carcinogenic free radicals, and also has antiseptic and has anti-inflammatory effects.

Turmeric is inevitable spice in Indian cuisine, but if you do not eat Indian food every day, the question is how to include this wonderful spice in your every day menu? You can add it to your hot lemon water.  You can also add some cinnamon that also has anti-inflammatory properties and can stabilize blood sugar levels, which means it can provide you with the feeling of satiety for longer.

This is what you will need to prepare this morning elixir:

1 cup of warm water. You can replace the water with a cup of milk of any kind.

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder;
Juice of half a lemon;

A pinch of cinnamon;
1/8 teaspoon of honey or agave syrup;
A teaspoon of coconut oil.
How to prepare the turmeric water:

Warm up the water. The water has to be warm not hot. Hot water will change the nutritional value and structure of turmeric, lemon juice and honey. So keep the water warm. Then add the turmeric, lemon juice and honey. Mix it well. Add the coconut oil and cinnamon and keep mixing. Turmeric powder will accumulate on the bottom of the cup so you have to make sure that you stir the drink well the whole time you are drinking it. Drink the water until it is still warm.
Spicing up your warm water with turmeric will be one of the best things that you can do for your body. It will have positive impact on the total organism and provide you with long term health.
