The season of colds is at our door. We have to be prepared by keeping the immunity on the higher scale. But when cold affect us and it is followed by nasty and persistent cough here is a recipe of a natural medicine that can heal cough and bronchitis. This natural remedy is used by our ancestors and it is proven to be effective for the diseases of upper respiratory tract. It is not only effective but it has great taste. Most children like its sweet taste and it is healthier and more efficient than the synthetic syrups that use artificial colors and preservatives. This syrup is so easy to prepare and it has no side effects as most of the natural remedies.
The only two ingredients that you will need for this syrup are black radish and honey. First you have to go to the market and buy one bigger black radish that weight about 500grams. Then you will need honey and a smaller bowl.
It is recommended to prepare the syrup in the evening for the next day. Start the preparation by washing and drying the radish. Cut the upper part that you will use later as a lid. You can also make a smaller cut on the bottom of the radish if necessary, so it can stay straight. Make like a smaller hole inside the radish leaving about 2cenitmeters from the sides. Add two tablespoons of honey in the radish hole. If you are allergic to honey use four tablespoons of sugar. When you add the honey make sure it fills up more than a half of the hole. Cover it with the lid that you cut off and leave it to stay overnight. During that time the honey will transform into most efficient natural cough syrup. In the morning you can start with the use. Take the syrup three to four times a day before a meal. Children take one teaspoon and adults one tablespoon. During the day you will use the syrup. Prepare a dose for the next day in the same radish. After two to three days change the radish.
Diabetics and children younger than one year should be careful while using this because a greater amount of honey can cause allergy.
NOTE: DESPITE THE THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES, THERE ARE CONTRAINDICATIONS TO USE: ACUTE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT, LIVER, GALL BLADDER AND KIDNEY.
